In March 2016, 117 205 houses were sold in Turkey
In Turkey, house sales increased by 1% in March 2016 compared to the same month of the previous year and hence, became 117 205. For the house sales of March 2016, İstanbul had the highest share (18.8%) of house sales with 21 993 sold house. The followers of Istanbul were Ankara with 12 730 (10.9%) house sales and İzmir 7 549 (6.4%) house sales. The least house sold provinces were Ardahan with 10 house sales, Şırnak with 19 house sales, Bayburt with 20 house sales.

In March 2016, 38 822 ownership of the houses changed by mortgage sales
The mortaged house sales throughout Turkey became 38 822 by decreasing 14.3% compared to the same month of the previous year. House sales with mortgage had a 33.1% share of all house sales in Turkey. Most of house sales with mortgage was in İstanbul with 8 539 sales. İstanbul was the first province in Turkey ranking that has most house sales with mortgage share with 22%. Mortgaged house sales had the highest share in Artvin with 50.3% of house sales.
Ownership of 78 383 houses changed by other sales
Other house sales in Turkey became 78 383 by increasing 10.8% compared to the same month of the previous year. In the other sales, İstanbul was the first province with 13 454 sales and 17.2% share. Other house sales had 61.2% share of all house sales in Istanbul. Ankara was the second province with 7 863 sales. Ankara was followed by İzmir with 4 828 sales. The least other house sales was realized in Ardahan with 6 house sales.

In house sales, 52 374 of houses were sold for the first time
First house sales in Turkey became 52 374 by increasing 1.7% compared to the same month of the previous year. First house sales had 44.7% share of all house sales in Turkey. The most first house sales was in İstanbul with 10 216 sales. İstanbul was the first province in Turkey ranking that had most first house sales share with 19.5%. The followers of İstanbul were Ankara with 4 838 house sales and İzmir with 2 860 house sales.
Ownership of 64 831 houses changed by second hand sales
Second hand house sales in Turkey became 64 831 by increasing 0.4% compared to the same month of the previous year. In the second hand sales, İstanbul was the first province again with 11 777 sales and 18.2% share. Share of the second hand sales was 53.5% in İstanbul in total house sales. Ankara was the second province with 7 892 sales and Ankara was followed by İzmir with 4 689 sales.
In March 2016, 1 595 houses were sold to foreigners
In house sales to foreigners became 1 595 by decreasing 0.9% compared to the same month of the previous year. İstanbul was the first province with 583 sales in March 2016. The followers of İstanbul were Antalya with 360 house sales, Bursa with 115 house sales, Muğla with 73 house sales, Yalova with 66 house sales and Ankara, Aydın with 56 house sales.
Most house sales were made to Iraqi citizens according to country nationalities
Iraqi citizens bought 244 houses from Turkey in March. The followers of Iraq were Saudi Arabia with 151 house sales, Afghanistan with 148 house sales, Kuwait with 136 house sales and Russia with 96 house sales.
